Bread day!

It was sunny, But with a cold wind blowing. So it was a great day to make Bread!
I wanted to make Mark a loaf of Rye Bread and Terri one of Whole Wheat. I'm a great lover of Farm House White, So I ended up making 6 loafs!

Some of the tools and ingrediants I used. That's the back of the Bread Machine. The Whole wheat is already working in it at this point.

The Rye Flour I used. This was from a recipe I got off the internet for "N.Y. Deili Style Rey. It had to rise 4 differant times and because of that, it took over 6 hours to get it baked. Another little trick that it used was , While the oven was Pre-Heating, I put a cookie sheet on the bottom rack of the oven and after I placed the dough into the oven, I toss a 1/2 cup of ice cubes on to the cookie sheet and closed the door. It gave the crust a nice chew!

Sorry about the bad photo. This is the Whole Wheat after it spent 3 hours in the Bread Machine! I know that this is considered cheating by some, But it is so easy1 First add the wet stuff, Then the dry, and add the yeast last. Then select the Bread you are making, The crust (Light, Medium or Dark) and push START! You can walk away and even run to town if you want! It will do all the work and the Bread comes out ready for the butter and jam!

This is the Rye dough on it's second rise. Only two more to go!

And this is the Farm House White. I doubled the recipe for this one! Its almost ready to punch down and get into the Bread Pans.

A photo of the Bread Machine from the front This is a "BREADMAN" and I got it at a discount from QVC. One of the benifits for working there!

And the finished loafs. The Whole Wheat in the front, A regular and mini loaft of the Farm House

    1. Mama Pea,
I love bread and making it yourself make's the best kind! When I want some to eat while I'm on the computer, It will normally be, A couple of thick slices of Home Made Bread, with lots of butter and Cherry Jam!
Maybe I will go make some right now!!!

    1. Lisa,
Yep, And when you do not have the time to do it by hand, Just dump everything into the machine and hit "Start". Go do other things and when you come back, IT"S DONE! You can even set it up to keep the Bread warm until you take it out!

    1. Susan,
You got that right! Of course I had to sample both the bread and the Chili as the day wore on!
Fresh Bread and Chili for lunch was real good, But it was better for dinner! After the Chili had a chance to cook for a few more hours!
      And "Brownies" for desert!

  7. That sounds so good. I may have to do something like that today. I am having trouble finding a good recipe for my bread machine tho. I like mine a lil sweet and not sure how much more to add to the recipe I have. My machine is a welbilt and it is hard to find recipes for it. The net has been helpful, but still can't seem to get the "just right" taste I like.
Have a good day, and oh, by the way, what is a color you enjoy wearing?
